Joanna Newsom 'Ys'
Joanna Newsom returns with one of the highlights of 2006, the follow up to her debut full-length release 'The Milk Eyed Mender', 'Ys'.  This time round Newsom steps up to the plate and takes us on an expansive and intense listening experience, with a full orchestra accompanying her over the majority of the recording. 'Emily' deserves to be one of those songs that goes down in the history books, and in a sea of bland, carbon-copy musicians, her take is constantly fresh, unique and fascinating. 'Y's should be at the top of every discerning record collectors Christmas wishlist, and everyone who thinks she sounds like Celine Dion can go straight to hell.
