biennial for Christchurch, SCAPE 2006 - mischievously entitled don’t
misbehave! Listen in every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning where
we’ll be spilling with the low down on all of the artists and
exhibitions around town. This is the biggest art event to take over
Christchurch since RDU put the caravan in the ocean. Check back here

Wednesday 18 October 2006 - 10.30am: Christchurch Art Gallery Speaker of the Month. Deborah McCormick: strategies for funding art in public space Christchurch Art Gallery, Philip Carter Family Auditorium Director
of Art & Industry, Deborah McCormick, talks about the
organisation’s unique model for producing the SCAPE biennials, and how
it compares to funding practices employed overseas, particularly in

Wednesday 11th of October - 6pm: Context in site Christchurch Art Gallery, Philip Carter Family Auditorium John
Hardwick-Smith, Director of Athfield Architects, and award-winning
landscape architect Megan Wraight from the landscape architecture firm,
Wraight & Associates reflect on new approaches to art in
public space. John and Megan are co-designers of Wellington
Waterfront’s impressive Waitangi Park and Taranaki Wharf development.
Together they will speak on the importance of context in the design of

Wednesday 4th of October
- check out Johannes Gees work at the Former Government Life, Tower
Building, 8pm to midnight. It’s a collaborative laser text projection
by Swiss artist Johannes Gees, taking its cue from the flaming Hand of
God as described in the Book of Daniel. The audience is invited to take
sides in a battle of words with the artist via your cellphone. To see
your message projected onto the Former Government Life Building, send a
