Hopetoun Brown – Burning Fuse
Best known as Supergroove’s horn section, Hopetoun Brown is a bluesy duo that have just released their debut album, Burning Fuse, recorded in Lyttelton by Ben Edwards and at The Lab in Mt Eden with Olly Harmer, they’ve played relentlessly up and down the nation wowing crowds with their horn-heavy sound, recently opening for The Violent Femmes at the St James Theatre in Auckland to a captive audience. Nick Atkinson’s bass clarinet underpins the voice and percussion of Tim Stewart who rips into licks on trumpet and trombone as his feelings possess him.
