Ōtautahi Urban Cultural Carnival

Hey, Ōtautahi!

We reckon Ōtautahi is ripe for some status-quo-flipping. Think pan-arts projects, emerging from the urban plazas, laneways, nooks, crannies and other interstitial spaces that make up our favourite places in the city. An urban festival that could only have come from Ōtautahi. A joyful sharing of our many essences, our many identities.

But how can groups of diverse identities collaborate around shared values? Can it be done in a way that isn’t top-down or led by a single group? Can it be a truly sustainable collaboration and co-creation between artists, community, venues and audiences?

If you’re passionate about creative community experiences and you’d be keen to help shape a vision and scope, you’re welcome to join in the convo!

We’re facilitating a Scoping Hui on Thursday, 16th February from 1230-2pm over at Gap Filler (153 High Street). All welcome. Guest speaker(s). Refreshments provided. Please RSVP to laura@rdu.org.nz by Wednesday 15th February.

Can’t make this, but want to get involved? Either way, reach out to us and we’ll loop you in.

We can’t wait to share where this conversation goes.

Mauri ora!
