This week‘s number one was “Ghost Pepper” from Christchurch producer Jagā (who is also one of the hosts on Wonk Panthers, but you voted him in on the app so promise we aren’t playing favourites).
We’ve been trying to lock down what this genre is called. Downbeat Future Bass? Jungle footwork crossover? Wonky Beats? Whatever it is, it’s that new Christchurch sound that producers like Jagā, kåmåndi, and yvnalesca are pioneering down heeeeere.
