With Waiata Anthems Week and Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori just around the corner, the Ōtautahi duo, Dillastrate, are releasing a song to celebrate. Called Ko Tātou Te Ahi, the song is a collaboration with Tiki Taane, and is recorded in a place that means a lot to all three men, the wharenui at Ngā Hau E Whā National Marae. Henare, of Dillastrate, joined RDU’s Burnt Breakfast in the studio to talk about the journey of the song, what it’s like working with Tiki Taane, and how it feels to record music in a place of such sentimental value.
