Ōtautahi based 6-piece band Somebody Do Something emerge with their new self-titled EP.

Each week our curators put together a list of new songs to be featured on RDU. We’ve taken their hit pick and compiled them into one action-packed playlist.

Emerging with their psychedelic debut single Kyrie Eleison, The Fuzzy Robes are set to take the country by storm.

Ōtautahi sweetheart Pickle Darling releases the new album Cosmonaut. Coming in at nine songs, ‘Cosmonaut’ is a collection of introspective and charming songs.

Ōtautahi DJ and Producer Alex TZ releases the funky new track ‘Move Wit This’.

CHAII continues her electric run with the new dance anthem, ‘Oh Nah Yeah’.

Taking out the top spot on this week’s Te Ahi Top 10 is Dunes, by Shankara NZ. Consisting of Brendan Evans and Elijah Wilson-Kelly, Shankara NZ creates an expansive soundscape through their exploration of different genres and sound pallets.

Every now and then, an absolute gem of an album appears when you’re least expecting it. For me, this latest gem is #5, by local Ōtautahi musician Thomas Isbister.

Taken from his 2020 EP ‘Recovery Pt.1’, ‘Cautionary Tale’ is a laid-back track from singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Arjuna Oakes.

Taking out the top spot on the latest Te Ahi Top 10 is Ōtautahi musician Thomas Isbister with his song ‘Eggs’. The track is a groovy slice of indie rock featuring a range of electric live instrumentation. ‘Eggs’ appears on Isbister’s recent album #5, which is his fifth full-length project released since 2019.
